Night Out Funded TAIR, Curiad Celtaidd, The Celtic Heartbeat Three of the finest traditional singers and musicians from across the Celtic world have come together over the past year, to share and perform the music they have inherited and grown up with. They are ‘Tair’, the Welsh word for three when it’s feminine. The three musicians are: · Siân James, the harpist and singer from Powys in mid-Wales · Seosaimhaín ni Beaghlaigh, a highly respected Sean-nos singer from County Kerry · Catherine Tinney, a young fiddler and singer from Skye. Harp, fiddle and vocals: a grandmother, a mother and a student: three soloists now playing and working together to discover and explore together the Celtic roots of our music. They were a resounding success at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections festival and on BBC Alba at the beginning of this year, and will be touring Ireland in May 2012.
