Open Way
Open Way is a fortnightly meeting rooted in the wisdom of the Christian contemplative and mystical tradition and will have elements of looking inwards to our spiritual development and looking outwards to the world around us. The hope is to grow together in the deeper wisdom of the heart, in an informal setting.
When and Where?
We meet on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7.30pm
in Llanrhian Church Hall.
Our time of meeting will consist of these elements in various formats:
• a time of meditation, or contemplative prayer
• music and chant
• input – recorded or live talks from a variety of backgrounds.
• discussion, sharing and listening
• sending loving intentions and prayers
• symbolic gesture and movement
‘Followers of the Way’ was name given to the early followers of the teachings of Jesus the Christ before they became known as Christians. Our way is rooted in the contemplative tradition from the early church, found in silent prayer of various schools, such as the Centering Prayer method of Contemplative Outreach, and the World Community for Christian Meditation.
The Wisdom tradition and teachings of the mystics will form an integral part in following the Way of the Heart. At the same time, we celebrate the globalised interspiritual consciousness of our times and are open to learning from other contemplative paths and ways of knowing. Our intention is to live fruitfully in the contemporary world from a place of oneness and compassion, to deepen the connection with the divine indwelling presence and its natural expression in our lives and relationships.
Open Way – a space to be, a place to grow
